This is a song writtern for a health-education outreach program: H.K.A.P. - The Hell's Kitchen Action Project. Some talented high school students (H.K.A.P. volunteers), would sing it at fundraisers and benefits. The topic is the lack of sex education in our schools.

Normally I would accompany them on guitar, but here we've added piano, bass, guide vocals and a drummer/percussionist (Aaron Alexander). My thanks to Michael Tucker.




All day long you people teach us
Washington and Lincoln's speeches
Neil Armstrong walked the moon
And Schubert wrote a pretty tune
We learn to brush our teeth and wash our necks
But we don't hear a word about... SEX


We learn of Pavlov's Dog and Schroedinger's Cat
Plato's Cave and Gertrude's flat
Sigmund Freud and super egos
Hablan Espanol, amigos?
We learn about Tyrannosaurus Rex
But we don't hear a word about sex


We can criticize Picasso's "Blue"
Analyze Ms. Angelou
Geometry comes easily
(Well, maybe for you but not for me)

But we don't hear a word about sex

Why our hormones are thundering
Please don't be furious
We're just naturally curious

We need to know the tactics of things like prophylactics
We need all of the info we can get
But please don't make us learn it on the Internet
